PPG TRAINING - Our teaching method

For your safety you must receive theoretical and practical training before flying. Our Basic Training is easy and only takes between 3 to 5 days.

A PPG is different from paragliding: you must simultaneously control the canopy as well as a powerful engine on your back !!!

Our trainning course usually takes about 3 to 5 days, depending on your aeronautical knowledge, your level of comfort, your physical condition, and of course.... wheather conditions.

Our standard trainning course includes

4 General Steps

  • Control of the paraglider
  • Safe & Proper use of the engine
  • First flight and basic piloting instructions
  • Safety procedures and additional trainning.

1- Using the paraglider

The first step consists in control of the wing on the ground :

  • foot launch
  • canopy inflation
  • control of the brakes
  • wind conditions ...

Occasionally your instructor will take you to a training hill for your first (but brief) flight. The goal is to perfect the controlling of paraglider under different wind conditions. During inflation, and while kiting.

2- Safely using the engine

The second step consists of controlling engine and thrust on the ground :

  • engine control & balance
  • fueling and set-up procedure
  • start-up & thrust control
  • launching sequence under thrust ...

During this instruction stage, you will learn how to synchronize wing control + foot-launching + engine thrust + safety.  After this stage, your "ground" school is finished.

3- First flight and basic flight training

The third step is the one you have been waiting for...
Before this step, you will have successfully been able to control the paraglider and engine thrust during the take-off simulation.

Gradually, with the aid of a two-way radio & your instructor, you will learn to :

  • safely take-off
  • control your altitude ...
  • fly in straight line (at a 300 ft altitude)
  • turn left, turn right
  • perform a smooth, safe landing

After 2 or 3 flights you will be able to fly on your own, under the supervision of your instructor.

4- Safety & enhanced training

This last step will now teach you to fly safely in both normal and abnormal situations.

  • Observing Weather conditions
  • Launch/Landing in high and low wind situations
  • Emergency procedures
  • At the successful completion of our course, we will proudly present you with your EagleWing's Pilot Certificate.
